Dinesh Kumar from Uttar Pradesh completed his Post Graduation in Applied Geology in the year 2010 and Graduation (Geology Hons.) in 2008 from Aligarh Muslim University. Following his post-graduation, he joined Physical Research Laboratory as a JRF in 2010. Subsequently selected in Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) Ltd. in 2010 as a Geologist. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. from the Department of Earth Science, IIT Roorkee, India, in addition to his job assignments at ONGC. He has over a decade of experience in Oil and Gas exploration from well site geological operations to G&G data interpretation.

Areas of Interest:

Seismic data interpretation and Reservoir characterization, Source Rock Characterization.

RESEARCH STATEMENT

As a geologist, I have worked in field across various basins of India and provided solutions to many challenges that we face while working in Frontier Basins. I am currently working in Seismic data interpretation of Vindhyan and Jaisalmer Basin. This study brings new prospects for exploration in these challenging Basins. My research on reservoir characterization and source rock studies of Mesozoic and Tertiary sequences of Jaisalmer Basin, Western Rajasthan, India is aimed to contribute in firming an effective exploration strategy.
