Short Bio:
Manisha Chaudhary completed her graduation in Geology (H) from HansRaj College, Delhi University in 2008 and Post-Graduation in Exploration Geophysics from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur in the year 2010. Following her post-graduation, she joined India’s leading energy giant Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) Ltd. as a petrophysicist. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. from the Department of Earth Science, IIT Roorkee, India, in addition to her job assignments at ONGC. She has over a decade of experience in Petrophysics & Geomechanics focusing on complex formation evaluation and geomechanical studies of tight and unconventional reservoirs.
Areas of Interest:
Petrophysics, Formation Evaluation, Rock physics and Geomechanics in complex and unconventional reservoirs.
RESEARCH STATEMENT
As a lead petrophysicist, I have worked on the detailed petrophysical characterization of siliciclastic and carbonate formations in various prolific basins of India and provided solutions to many challenges that we face while studying the unconventional reservoirs such as tight siliciclastics, tight carbonates, igneous and metamorphic reservoirs. I am currently working on the formation evaluation of the basement reservoirs of Western offshore basin of India. This study reduces the risk in the formation evaluation of the basement rocks but also provides the reservoir zones in the unconventional basement. In my research work, I am also studying the link between the texture of basement rocks with their geomechanical properties. This study gives no-destructive methods to calculate various elastic and geomechanical parameters from rock texture.
