RESEARCH STATEMENT

My study centered on investigating the alterations in rock properties resulting from CO2 injection in storage reservoirs is a pivotal aspect of the proficient monitoring of carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects. The broadband seismic technique is a valuable tool for gaining detailed insights into changes in porosity, permeability, and fluid saturation. Through a systematic analysis of seismic data conducted before, during, and after injection, the primary objective of this research is to refine monitoring methodologies, ensuring the structural integrity of CO2 storage sites, thereby contributing to the secure implementation of CCS initiatives. My study further explores the feasibility and efficacy of injecting fluids, specifically carbon dioxide, into subsurface rocks for long-term storage, specifically addressing critical environmental concerns. The research focus encompasses a comprehensive understanding of fluid-rock interactions, permeability changes, and geomechanical responses, providing valuable insights to advance sustainable carbon capture and storage technologies.
